Females  

When  you choose the sex of your Bengal cat  take in consideration if you want a pet or a breeder. When female Bengals reach  sexual maturity they have periods of  heat or estrous every 20 to 30 days that  last between 5 to 14 days ( And some females will actually spray on walls, furniture, ect. like a male.) Remember !  Having the female spayed stops the cycles and  makes her more affectionate.



Males
Will reach their puberty between 6 and 10  months of age and like the females  they also have heat periods  that continue for the rest of their lives and spray on walls, furniture, etc.  Remember to get your males castrated before 6 months. Neutered  males become more loving toward  humans.


  
 
Best Advise Prior To Buying 
When ever possible visit the place you are purchasing your kitten from.  Make your own selection. A closer examination of the kitten you want to purchase  is important. You will be able to have a  better idea of the kitten's personality, looks,  and disposition.



Picking Up Your Kitten
Before you take your kitten home make sure  to ask the breeder for vaccination records and diet and litter they have used. You can change the diet gradually, sudden changes can cause
digestive problems. 



TICA Registration Papers When the breeder registers the litter,  he/she receives a blue slip (registration paper) for each kitten of that litter.  You will be given that slip which lists the kitten birthday, coat color, sex,  and eye color. If buying as a pet you will receive this once you prove to the breeder that the cat has been neutered. Once you receive the copy. Just  fill the rest of the registration paper and send it to TICA.
